TPA partners with Column to improve its Statewide Legal Notice website

Texas Press Association has partnered with Column to modernize TPA's Statewide Legal Notice website (texaslegalnotices.com) and strengthen legislative efforts to keep newspapers as the primary publishers of legal notices in Texas.
Column has helped 13 other state press associations improve access to notices by making critical improvements to accessibility, as well as adding improved search and alert functionality for the public.
Column's Partner Program was formed to serve as the technological muscle for organizations advocating in support of public notice, according to Kevin King, head of communications for Column.
"In the new year, we will be working with TPA and their members on redesigning TPA's Statewide Legal Notice Website to deliver the most comprehensive set of tools and features available for searching notices across the state," King said. "Column provides associations with modern, fast, and mobile-friendly statewide notice databases equipped with keyword searching, notice type categorization, email/SMS alerts, and more."
April 16 is the target date for taking the new site live, according to TPA Executive Director Mike Hodges. Virtual information and training sessions are planned. TPA member newspapers will have three free options for uploading to the refreshed site.
For more information, publishers are encouraged to contact Hodges at mhodges@texaspress.com or Alex Lutz at at alex@column.us.
Collectively, the Column Partner Program includes press associations representing Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Maryland, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia.
