Nathan Diebenow
The Clifton Record/Meridian Tribune
CLIFTON – Nathan Diebenow is the new managing editor of The Clifton Record and Meridian Tribune.
The appointment was announced by Publisher Rita Hamilton, who praised his experience and commitment to community journalism.
Diebenow, who has family roots in the area, first worked for The Clifton Record shortly after graduating from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2002. For three years, he learned newspaper reporting covering events in Clifton and Bosque County under editor and publisher Leon Smith and associate editors David Anderson and Carol (Moulton) Reuter.
During his time away from Bosque County, Diebenow continued to work for Smith’s online publication, The Lone Star Iconoclast, and co-hosted a podcast about pop culture.
He returned to Clifton in 2012 and since 2015 has been publishing a flyer promoting local events called the Clifton Sheet. In 2018-19 he worked for the Clifton Record again under publisher Brett Voss and editor Simone Voss.
Diebenow said remembering the fun times he had working with the editors and publishers and interacting with the locals at the Record guided his decision to accept the managing editor’s position.

SHARON BROOKS
Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post
FREDERICKSBURG – The Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post welcomed a new managing editor to the staff with the appointment of Sharon Brooks to the position.
Publisher Ken Cooke announced the appointment, noting Brooks’ experience will help the newspaper’s business and medical reporting.
Brooks joined the Standard after working for The Examiner in Beaumont for 10 years. She started there as a staff writer, then became city editor before taking over The Examiner’s Southeast Texas Business Journal as editor in 2018.
Brooks graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont in 2005.
At The Examiner, she led a team of reporters and was responsible for content in multiple special publications related to business, health and lifestyle. Her work earned recognition from the National Newspaper Association and the Press Club of Southeast Texas.

Miranda Oglesby
Paris News
PARIS – Miranda Oglesby has joined the staff of The Paris News as managing editor.
Previously, she served as managing editor of the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram and the Mount Pleasant Tribune. She has also worked for other publications as reporter, photographer and page designer.

Joe Smith
Wimberley View
WIMBERLEY – Local broadcaster Joe Smith has joined the Wimberley View as staff writer.
A graduate of Rockwall High School and Stephen F. Austin State University, he moved to southeastern Louisiana to attend graduate school at New Orleans Baptist Seminary, where in addition to earning advanced degrees, he served as pastor of a small church outside Baton Rouge until 2010.
He and his family have resided in Wimberley for the past 12 years.
Public address duties for Wimberley ISD football teams led to work in local radio. His experience interviewing players and coaches for segments broadcast on KWVH Radio grew to a live two-hour weekly radio show, “The Voice of the Texans,” a venue for students to tell their stories.
“The move to sports and feature writing at The View allows the combination of great passions as I seek to celebrate the successes of our kids in the community and dig deeper into the stories that make Wimberley a hidden gem and a wonderful piece of Texas,” he said.
