Reporters contribute to our newspaper's print products, social media and overall web presence and participate in conversations to increase our reach.
Qualifications include: Accuracy in reporting. Fluency in AP style. Strong interpersonal skills. Understanding open records law and ability to file, manage and oversee requests pertinent to beat work. Strong computer skills. Ability to collaborate on new projects and work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to contribute to conversations regarding projects, daily budget and pitching stories. Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a staff of reporters, providing editing, coaching, story assignments and feedback

- Write and report on a specific beat, producing multiple articles per week

- Edit stories for clarity, voice, structure and AP style

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field

- Experience managing teams and providing feedback

- Familiarity with content management systems and newsroom technology

- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities

- Good interpersonal skills to develop sources and staff
