1918-19 Harry Koch Quanah Tribune Chief
Hotze "Harry" Koch, 40th president, was born in Holland on Oct. 22, 1867. When he turned 21 he came to the United States and after prospecting for three years moved to Quanah.
Koch purchased the Quanah Chief in 1891 and three years later acquired the Quanah Tribune. He consolidated the two newspapers under the name Quanah Tribune-Chief in 1897. His oldest son, Anton, worked with him at the Tribune-Chief as advertising manager. Koch died June 21, 1942. The Koch family owned the newspaper until 1978.
