Tyler County Booster @ Woodville

The Tyler County Booster celebrated its 75th year of service to Tyler County and surrounding counties on Dec. 11, 2005. The Tyler County seat newspaper used the occasion to remind readers what it's taken to remain the central resource for information and economic influence over the years since it was established in December 1930. The newspaper has evolved from its first owner, J.H. Willard, who ran a hot type operation with the euphoric smell of gas fired hot molten lead-fed Linotype machines and hand composed lead headlines, to the modern day digital composition and offset press operation owned by publisher Alvin Holley of Livingston in Polk County. The Tyler County Booster newspaper continues to grow and be a journalistic leader in the region. Founded: 1930
