Texas Press Association’s 129th Summer Convention drew 276 people, including 46 first-timers, to the Sheraton Arlington Hotel June 19-21, for three days of business and fun all mixed into one.

The convention, under the theme “Boot Up Your Online Power,” garnered representatives from 100 newspapers and 11 associate members.

The attendance was down by 22 people from last year’s summer convention, which drew 298 people and 110 newspapers to San Antonio.

This year’s event included an afternoon of fun, dinner and entertainment at Six Flags Over Texas. Eight members toured the new Dallas Cowboys stadium under construction in Arlington and three people sped their way at 150 miles per hour in a special excursion to Texas Motor Speedway.
