The Farmersville Times celebrates milestone 125th year Print E-mail

The Farmersville Times, the oldest newspaper in Collin County, celebrated its 125th year in business on March 23.
An open house with refreshments and a commemorative special section designed after a 1901 edition of The Times was included in the celebration. Dignitaries visited, including Farmersville Mayor Don Smith, Collin County Judge Keith Self, state Rep. Jodie Laubenberg, Farmersville City Manager John Moran and several members of the Farmersville City Council.
During the ceremony, Mayor Smith issued a proclamation declaring March 22-26 as The Farmersville Times week and state Rep.Laubenberg presented The Times with a flag that had flown over the state Capitol.
“We are proud to have been a part of Farmersville for so many years and look forward to covering the news for many years to come. The technology may change but our commitment remains,” owner and publisher Chad Engbrock said.
The Farmersville Times is part of C&S Media Publications Inc., which also publishes The Wylie News, The Sachse News, Murphy Monitor and The Princeton Herald.
