Gonzales Inquirer welcomes Kevin Wright as new publisher

GONZALES – Kevin Wright has assumed duties as publisher of the Gonzales Inquirer.

Wright, who came to Gonzales from Ureka Springs, Arkansas, got his start in newspapers in 1982 with Jim Chionsini, who, at that time, had a newspaper in Ulysses, Kansas.

From there, Wright went on to publish newspapers in New Mexico and Colorado before moving to California to work for Auto Trader magazine.

“We’re excited to have Kevin here as part of the Gonzales Inquirer,” General Manager Brandi Chionsini said.

“He’ll be bringing in a level of professionalism as well as a wealth of knowledge to not only this newspaper but the Gonzales community as well.”

Wright says he has had a fondness for Gonzales since visiting the area in the early ‘80s while on a trip to San Antonio.

“I’m a huge history buff, and I’ve read all about Gonzales and the Texas revolution,” he said.

“I’m also excited to be here because the staff all have ties to the community – you don’t find that all too often. I look forward to getting out into the community. If there’s someone who doesn’t get their paper, then I want to be the one taking that paper out to them.”
