Twice-weekly award-winning community newspaper seeks experienced reporter who can write strong features about schools, education and children, cover education policy, and untangle tax and financial complexities for our readers. A successful candidate will be eager to tackle other types of stories and to learn about the community. The ability to write clean concise stories, meet deadlines, juggle multiple assignments and plan ahead is critical. Basic photography skills necessary.
The Williamson County Sun is a 140-year-old family-owned newspaper in Georgetown, Texas, one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities. Georgetown is home to Southwestern University, a repurposed historic courthouse square that is a music, theater and restaurant center; and a thriving retirement community. A growing complex of hospitals and medical educational facilities sits just outside Georgetown’s boundary but makes an impact. Austin is 30 miles south.
