1905-06 J.H. Lowry Honey Grove Signal

Born on a farm near Bells, Tenn., May 9, 1866, J.H. Lowry, 27th president, went from the farm to a printing office when he was 17. He worked at several places in Tennessee before coming to Texas in 1886.

He took charge of the Honey Grove Signal in 1893 and operated it until 1929 when the Signal was consolidated with the Citizen to become the Signal-Citizen. He was co-publisher.

He married Fannie Thompson in 1888 and they had one child.
